Abstract

Pedagogical workshops are one of the teaching and learning strategies that enable interaction between participants in order to build knowledge. The aim of this study was to report on the experiences of a pedagogical workshop conducted remotely with students in the final years of elementary school. The workshop was used as a didactic-pedagogical strategy aimed at developing students' reading literacy and scientific literacy. The text used in the workshop is a scientific text in the format of a chronicle. A total of 59 8th grade students from a public school in the state of Goiás took part in the activities. Based on the results found, we can say that the pedagogical workshop was a strategy that enabled ways to develop literacy in reading, as well as bringing together the disciplines of Portuguese Language and Natural Sciences in Basic Education. From the point of view of scientific literacy, the students were able to get closer to elements of scientific practice, learn scientific names and understand a little more about the complexity of ecological interactions in nature.
