The research article examines the new perspectives on Science Education by analyzing the approaches proposed by the guiding documents of Brazilian Education for this area of knowledge in the first phase of Elementary School. This analysis is supported by the inclusion of external sampling assessments in the Saeb (Brazilian Educational Assessment System) for science in the fifth grade of Elementary School, confirming the importance of developing Science Education from the early years. It is relevant to highlight the significant scientific contributions that have supported current discoveries through the presentation of historical scientists, particularly Darwin, and how they can contribute to the construction of meaningful learning. This is especially relevant considering children's materials available on digital platforms, printed resources, and other strategies that can spark children's interest and curiosity about science in their lives.
