The present study focuses on the use of videos in the communication and education of deaf individuals. The general objective is to explain the importance of using videos in the communication and education of deaf people. The methodology of this investigation was bibliographic research and document analysis. Deaf individuals are characterized as a minority group, users of a visual-spatial language, and in the past, they were socially distant due to communication barriers and discrimination. They were seen as incapable of exercising their citizenship and lived supported by their families without prospects for acceptance. Deprived of using their natural language, they were forced to develop “speech” in order to gain social acceptance. Currently, deaf individuals have had their language recognized and the right to education in their own language guaranteed. Innovations in digital technology have facilitated communication and the use of videos across various applications and platforms, improving accessibility for the deaf in general. Additionally, through videos, it is possible to translate school content, literature, and other information relevant to the deaf community.
