Abstract

This article presents successful practices from preparatory classes for the external assessments SAEB (Basic Education Assessment System) and SAEGO (Goiás State Educational Assessment System), focusing on Portuguese Language and Mathematics content. The study aims to report pedagogical strategies that contributed to student engagement and improved performance in the assessments. The methodology emphasizes didactic-pedagogical strategies centered on understanding the assessed skills, student engagement, and a contextualized approach. The results indicate that interactive practices, ongoing teacher training, and the use of diverse resources enhance learner performance. Furthermore, it was observed that active methodologies, interdisciplinary review, and practical exercises were fundamental in promoting meaningful learning. It is based on authors such as Luckesi (2011), Libâneo (2013), Hoffmann (2001), Saviani (2003) and Perrenoud (2000), who address the role of assessment and teaching practice in the integral formation of the student.
