Abstract

This experience report aims to present a life journey that demonstrates how education, in its most accessible and informal forms, can be a powerful tool for social and attitudinal inclusion. Starting from the author's personal experience, who began learning English with his mother, a domestic worker, the text traces a path to professional work as a tenured teacher in Goiás' public school system. The report describes life experiences, from childhood in the suburbs of Aparecida de Goiânia to academic education and working with vulnerable students. The visit of representatives from the Go English project and a foreigner to the CEPI Irmã Gabriela school in Goiânia is highlighted as an impactful event. This visit served to make the community's students feel that their English learning was valued and strengthened, and to recognize their place in a globalized and inclusive world.
