Bioinformatics is not a recent discipline; it has developed progressively alongside advances in computational technologies and molecular biology discoveries, such as the emergence of modern DNA sequencing methods. By its interdisciplinary nature, bioinformatics integrates fields such as biology, mathematics, computer science, physics, and chemistry, and also interacts with applied areas like health sciences. In the educational context, the use of bioinformatics tools in the classroom represents an opportunity to construct and mobilize scientific knowledge related to biological concepts and phenomena, promoting more active and contextualized learning. This work proposes the use of bioinformatics as a tool for teaching biological concepts and phenomena in basic education, based on the general competencies outlined in the Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC) and the Curricular Document of Goiás. To this end, competencies and objectives were selected from these documents, followed by a systematic search for published articles describing activity proposals for high school education. A total of 40 articles were identified, five of which presented activities that do not require the use of computers, allowing adaptations to different school contexts. The activities were classified by difficulty level: 21 basic, suitable as introductory activities; 10 intermediate; and 9 advanced, designed for students with greater familiarity with the topics and tools. The results indicate that bioinformatics is a powerful pedagogical resource that brings science closer to classroom practice and supports the deepening of biological concepts across different thematic areas. Furthermore, it aligns with the BNCC competencies and the objectives of the Curricular Document of Goiás, contributing to a more integrated and up-to-date scientific education in high school.
